Zoe Bergermann

Coming off an impressive 5th place finish at the 2012 Junior World Championships, SBX racer Zoe Bergermann is the latest member of our Rising Stars team.

Name: Zoe Bergermann

Date of Birth: April 28, 1994

Home Town: Erin, Ontario

Home Club: Caledon Ski Club

Coach: Dave Balne

Equipment: 158 Kessler Cross, Union Contact bindings, front 15, back -6

When did you start snowboarding and how did you start racing?: I started snowboarding when I was 9 years old. I used to ski race until my brother convinced me that snowboarding was better, he was right. I started off doing slopestyle and started racing boardercross when I was 12.

Where is your favourite place to ride?: My favourite place to ride is Caledon Ski Club because I get to ride with my family and friends from home.

Who is your snowboarding role model or hero?: My snowboarding hero is definitely Maëlle Ricker.

What do you like best about snowboarding?: The thing I like best about snowboarding is waking up early and having first tracks.

What do you like to do when you're not competing or training?: Playing other sports like rugby, soccer and I wrestle.

What are your goals as a snowboard racer?: One of my goals is to compete on the World Cup circuit and make it to the Olympics.


Blake Bogden

Matthew Morison

Name: Blake Bogden

Date of Birth: November 27th 1995

Home Town: Toronto, Ontario

Home Club: Holimont, but I will be riding in Collingwood this season with the Ontario Snowboard Club.

Coach: Mike Towers

Equipment: 165 SL Kessler with a vist plate and F2 bindings. 185 GS Kessler with (hopefully) an apex race plate, and F2 bindings. I ride 26.5 Dalbello Krypton Pro's, and I am Regular. My Bindings are set at 57/55 degrees.

When did you start snowboarding and how did you start racing?: I started snowboarding when I was 9 years old and I was a ski racer prior to then, so I thought I may try that same aspect of snowboarding.

Where is your favourite place to ride?: My favorite place to ride is Copper because it seems like the snow is always so good there, compared to Ontario.

Who is your snowboarding role model or hero?: I would have to say Jasey-Jay.

What do you like best about competing?: I love the thrill of finishing well and the intensity of racing.

What are your goals as a snowboard racer?: My ultimate goal would be to go to the Olympics, but this season or next I really want to qualify for Junior Worlds.

When did you start snowboarding and how did you start racing?: I started snowboarding when I was 9 years old. Snowboarding sounded a lot more fun than skiing to me.

Where is your favourite place to ride?: My favourite place to ride is anywhere out west, but I also love to ride at Mansfield.

Who are your snowboarding role model's or heros?: My hero's of snowboarding are Jasey Jay Anderson, Michael Lambert and Matt Morison.

What do you like about competing?: I love racing and trying to take everything I have learned training and apply it on the race hill. I also love the racing community.

What are your goals as a snowboard racer?: My goals are to compete on the world cup circuit and hopefully eventually compete in an Olympics.
